Spacesmith Architects - Sustainability & Transparency Form

Every product we specify has a direct impact on human and environmental health. In an effort to improve Spacesmith's practice, and advocate for awareness and positive change in our industry, we've implemented sustainability standards for vendor presentations and for our preferred materials. If you would like to present to our team and/or send us product samples, please fill out the form below. This will give us an overview of your company's sustainability standards and goals. We'll continue updating this form through time and asking more advanced questions - we encourage you to come back to it when you have updates to the things we request or have advanced in a particular area of sustainability. We hope you'll join us in this process. The more we know as a community, the better stewards we can be for ourselves, our clients, and our environment.

Prevalence of EPDs
How many of your product(s) have Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs)? We value EPDs because they provide a holistic picture of a product's environmental impact, including global warming potential (GWP). EPDs gather this information through life cycle assessments (LCAs) that are independently verified according to two relevant standards: ISO 14040 and ISO 14044. You can learn more about these standards here: https://www.iso.org/standard/38498.html https://www.iso.org/standard/37456.html
EPD Documentation
Please upload the EPD(s) for your product(s), if applicable.

Material Health Certifications
Do your products have any third-party certifications regarding material health? Select all that apply. These certifications show that the materials in your product(s) are optimized, or healthy. Even if your product doesn't have any of these certifications, you can take a step toward optimization by being transparent about your product's material makeup. One transparency document you can pursue is the Declare Label. You can learn more about the Declare Label here: https://living-future.org/declare/

Take Back Program
Do you offer a take back program for your product(s)? Take back programs are organized by manufacturers and retailers to keep products out of the landfill by collecting used products or materials from end users and reintroducing to the market. Companies might refurbish these products or use their components to create entirely new products. Ultimately, take back programs extend the life of the materials and offer opportunities for creativity. It's a win-win.
